Clean Language amounts to a way of thinking about thinking which is quite different from the norm. It is both astonishingly simple, and fascinatingly complex in its implications. Created by the late David Grove and further developed and applied by others including Penny Tompkins and James Lawley, Clean Language is a multi-purpose toolkit of 12 questions.
The questions are great for obtaining information from another person in a structured way that helps you to get really clear, while maintaining open-mindedness and respect. They are great for developing teams and aligning goals in a way that really fits for those involved. And at a more complex level, Clean Language can be combined with the metaphors a person uses in their thoughts and words to create a bridge between the conscious and unconscious minds. This in turn can become a route to profound personal exploration, to solving longstanding problems, and to resolution and healing.
As well as introductory materials, this site also includes resources for people who have received some training in Clean Language, Symbolic Modelling, Clean Space and/or Emergent Knowledge. Please feel free to browse.
